URSUS is the entry model of the KITE OPTICS professional roof prism range. It is an easy to use all-round pair of binoculars, designed for every day use and comes with an extensive 30 years warranty.



The optical system benefits from the KITE MHR coating. A coating system that provides full multi coating on all lens surfaces, as well as a high reflective coating on the prism. This results in excellent colour balance, a bright and sharp image.

The KITE URSUS is fully waterproof and nitrogen gas filled, eliminating any chance of condensation from the inside. Its chassis is fully covered with a strong rubber armour to give the instrument optimal protection against shocks and jolts.


The soft-touch rubber armour is designed to provide maximum grip on the right places. The instrument is ultra light and well balanced, making it very comfortable to hold, to handle and to carry with you all day. The short hinge design allows your fingers to wrap around the barrel, and use the instrument with one hand only. 

The Ursus is equipped with 4-stage metal eyecups, for optimized viewing comfort with or without spectacles. The metal eyecups are covered with soft rubber and are self-removable.

A professional range of binoculars with objective diameters varying from 32mm to 42mm. The Falco features high quality glass components treated with KITE OPTICS MHR coating, resulting in light transmission values up to 90%. Color reproduction is perfectly natural and the image is characterized by a high level of contrast and focus depth. The aluminum machined chassis allows the Falco to be extremely light and robust at the same time.

The Falco responds to the new trend for high performing and pocket sized 30-32mm class binoculars. Just as the top-end LYNX HD+ 30, the FALCO 32 has a slim design, a short hinge, and weighs less than 500g. A perfect companion for all sorts of outdoor activities. The Petrels are the latest base models of the Kite roof prism range. They make the Kite Optics roof prism assortment more accessible to the budget user. But most important, the Petrels are still finest quality binoculars.

100% manufactured in Japan with the expert knowledge of Kite Optics, they provide excellent characteristics and a 30 year warranty period.

The lightweight Petrel is a product, derived from the immense popular Forster design. In difference the Petrel features a less complicated lens and coating system. This results in slightly lower optical performance while featuring the same mechanical and technical qualities of the Forster. With the Petrel, Kite has made the best performing instrument in its price-class.

The Forster has been around for years and is Kite’s most popular instrument. It is the faithful workhorse of many ornithologists all over the world.

Considered the big brother of the Kite Petrel, the Forsters belong to the new generation of nitrogen waterproof roof prism binoculars. The extremely bright images are derived from the latest technologies and are specially balanced out to deliver good all round colour saturation across a wide range of ambient light conditions. Some important features are the Kite 67 layer coatings on the prisms, the complex multi-element eyepiece design and the Aspheric lenses that reduce aberration. Another aspect that distinguishes the Forster from the Pallas and Petrel is its depth of field. DOF is sometimes a forgotten aspect, but should always be taken into account when choosing an optical instrument for birdwatching.

The Ibis ED is not just an upgrade of the previous Ibis model. Besides the optical system, the entire construction of the binoculars has been redesigned.

At first sight, most striking is the implementation of the open-bridge, which contributes to the usage comfort. As always, the rubber armor is designed to provide maximum grip. Also new are the twist-up eyecups, which the user can now easily clean he. If necessary the user can also easily replace the eyecups by new ones he, as Kite always provides new eyecups to its customers free of charge. But most important are of course the improvements on optical performance. The newly developed optical system shows clear improvement in edge and center sharpness, colour reproduction and brightness. One of the contributors to these results are the ED lenses that the new Ibis now features.

To put it short… The Ibis was already a fantastic pair of binoculars, but now climbs up to an even higher level.

BONELLI  -  8x42 | 10x42

The Bonelli is simply the best instrument in its class, and until today Kite’s top binocular. This instrument is equipped with large diameter ocular lenses that allow a very big field of view with sharp edges. Making its impressive image possible, are the very large prisms and lens elements inside.

The Kite Bonelli’s complex lens and prism system contributes to its total weight… Nevertheless Kite has managed to keep this weight under 840 gr., applying an aluminum-magnesium body. Equipped and treated with the best technologies and finest Kite coatings, the colour reproduction and sharpness provided by this instrument are astonishing. The Toucan is KITE’s entry model in the 42mm roof prism range. As always this instrument complies with Kite’s high quality standards.

The high performing optical system, offering a brilliant image, houses in an aluminum chassis. Also the smallest internal components of the Toucan are made from lightweight metals. In this way Kite can live up to the extensive 30 year warranty period the Toucan is covered by, and can also repair every smallest part if this would ever be necessary. So the Toucan is a very robust but also exceptionally durable instrument in its price class.

The Fitis, Kite’s standard porro prism binoculars, are a pair of reliable all-rounders. An excellent starter tool for bird watching and general nature observation.

The Fitis features fold down rubber eyecups and a durable rubber armouring for comfort and protection. The Fitis is built in Japan, just like all other Kite binoculars. So despite the low price of this instrument, you can trust in its outstanding optical and technical quality.
